And Now For Something Completely Different…

Well, this is it: the grand opening of Ispirata.net. I’d like to thank the wonderful Kya for hosting Ispirata for free. Originally, I’d planned for something far more spectacular, but I ran out of patience and time. I was also going to install a completely new CMS, but eventually I decided against it. Fanupdate is good enough for me, I think- I don’t really need anything bigger or more impressive. If I change my mind later, fine, but for now I’m sticking to a simple blog.

The content also isn’t quite as new as I’d originally thought- I transferred over some of the better articles from RainysWorld, and rewrote/added reviews of Fanupdate and Cutenews. I also converted my old blog about Twilight into an article (seeing as I was quite proud of that one). There’s one enormous new article about making better layouts; I’ve been working on it on and off for months and orignally wanted to put it on RainysWorld (but obviously that’s not happening).

The graphic/design section (retitled ‘Free Stuff’) is almost entirely the same, but I eliminated the brushes. (I’d add them up again if enough people missed them, but I just didn’t feel like the page was really going to be updated any more.) The photos, desktop backgrounds- they’re all there for your use, just like always.

The ‘About’ pages have been completely re-done; I got rid of most of the subpages but I might need to set them up again if I feel like I’m really missing something. I also haven’t quite gotten the archives page set up, but that’s because I don’t have any archives yet! I think I’ll wait until I get a few blog entries written before I add that page up.

Before anyone asks, I don’t plan to do any kind of affiliation program for this website. The websites you see linked in my sidebar are my friends; those who I exchange comments with and I am actually friends with. That said, I’ll update the sidebar every once in a while, and I’m always willing to look at new sites- if you leave your URL with your comment (in the URL field, of course, not IN the actual comment), I’ll always visit your site. You can, of course, always feel free to link back to this website, but as of yet I don’t have a link-back button and I’m not sure if I’ll be making one. (Text links are prettier, anyway =) ).

As per usual, any kind of missing pages, layout issues, etc. can be reported to me by email (emily@ispirata.net) or by comment. (Hopefully we won’t have any of those!) I’ll be going on vacation next week, and this will likely be my only entry until I get back, but I’ll be here until Saturday to fix any problems.

By the way, did anyone catch the Monty Python reference in the title? Plus 10 points if you did.
