I Don’t Think This Has Any Relevance To Anything

Okay, I’ll be honest. I don’t think this is going to last long. The layout, I mean. I’m bored already looking at it. I wanted to cut back and have a simpler layout for a change, maybe integrate a little bit of fancier typography, but if I stare at it too much longer I think I’m going to lose my mind. It’s too serif-y and boring and blaaah. (I think I’ll make my next one purple and gray with rounded corners. Don’t let me forget that.) Man, I didn’t even have it up for a whole day before I was saying to myself, “What was I thinking??!?!”… that’s gotta be a record.
In other news, finals week is, of course, over, and new classes have started. I still have my hellish AP English class, but now I have Stats and Probability (a step back from Calculus, and easier too, thank goodness), Sociology, and Orchestra. Easiest semester by far since, like, sophomore year, I think.
I’d write about some current event, but I’m a little behind on the news right now. Everything seems like it’s disastrous or some political figure bashing the opposite side. It makes me sick the way everyone’s at each other’s throats constantly. Liberal, conservative- it doesn’t MATTER any more! People need to learn to set aside their differences and work together to solve problems. Politicians- I’ve never seen a group of adults act more like five-year-olds in my life. That is all.
Yeah, so sometime soon I’m going to make a new layout to replace this one, and maybe along the way I’ll actually write something worth reading. … Yeah, that’ll be the day.

Aww, but I like this layout, Emily! By the way, I only just noticed this, but on your footer, it says “Layout, Images and Content by Emily, 2008-2009.” I think that needs to be changed to “2008-2010.” Anyways. Sorry. I’m easily distracted.
You lucky goose! I would love to take Sociology—I think it sounds really fascinating and cool, since you get to learn how society works. I’d trade that for my U.S. Society class any day.
I’m glad it’s an easy semester for your last year of high school! Hopefully you can sit back and relax a little bit more as your senior year passes. That sounds so cool—your last year of high school! Oh dear, I’m already freaking out for you about your senior year, and I’m only in the eighth grade. When on earth will happen when it’s MY last semester of high school?
Anyways, I’m still rooting for you and can’t wait to hear some interesting blog entries.

I think this layout is pretty, although I have to agree it is pretty serif-y. Which isn’t a bad thing, necessarily. I do like the colors of this one though.
I’ll keep that in mind for when we do that. I’m not at all looking forward to it. I have never dissected anything. I was suppose to do a frog in Freshmen Bio at my old school but we never got around to it. So I’m a little freaked out. I’d rather go back and do the frog but I’m not sure my teacher will take that if I ask him… xD
Oh man, that would suck to have to do the exam after that long of a break… How did you guys manage to cover everything though?! We ended Semester right after the French Revolution, beginning the Industrial Revolution in England (and partially in Continent).
Yay Batman! I approve of your choice, Emily.
I know, right? I love decorating and redoing things. It’s just so much fun. The only reason I don’t do much with my room though is that I can’t paint the walls, since we rent, and the landlord wouldn’t be too happy. That and if I had my way I’d buy all new stuff and that would get pretty expensive. xD So right now I got a few minor new things, and I’m going through and getting rid of the stuff that I haven’t looked at since we moved here… like five years ago. I think it’s safe to say that I don’t need that anymore, eh?
I’m with you on the torn feelings. I am seriously excited, but I feel kind of bad leaving. My dad is the only one I live with right now and he doesn’t have anyone else and it feels mean to just… leave him all by himself. Which I guess is kind of ridiculous. D: I keep hoping he’ll get a girlfriend or something. I think if I had that off my conscious, there would be nothing to hold me back from wanting to go to college other than a little nervousness about having complete responsibility for everything on my shoulders. Haha.

I actually like this layout. It’s well thought out, simple and nice. Perhaps you’re looking for something a bit darker though? I don’t know, my layouts always look better with dark colors. Maybe because I”m a hopeless goth/emo (no, I don’t cut myself!)
I agreed with Lighty- but that’s probably because I want to be an Animal Biologist. I would love to be in your year (7th grade ;P 6 years to go). I have all the manadatory. I only picked my language (German 1!) and cycles (could have done orchastra or choir- but I lack musicle talent).
As for the politicians; my best friend, who’s only 12 made a huge accurate rant about Barak Obama! About Haiti, and all that other stuff. She was correct, I even looked online, on TV and in the papers. She doesn’t do current events at her school (boy 7th grade is horrible) and yet she knows more than they do. Wonderful, ain’t it? Makes me feel secure here.

I really like the simplicity of this layout; actually, it was your layout that inspired me to create another one for myself xD
I’m glad that your classes are getting toned down a bit! Unfortunately for me, I still have to somehow pass Algebra II xD

I agree with you about the layout. I like the colors, maybe you could just add a banner or something.
Good luck with your semester!
About people working together: Let’s just say that people will never always see eye to eye. Everyone is different and some people just won’t change because they think they’re right all the time. People may learn to agree on somethings, but they will never work together perfectly.
